Today it returned, after more than half a year without problems. I noticed several symptoms and it freaked me like hell.
For those of you who do not know, RSI is Repetitive Strain Injury, it is usually caused by sitting by the comp 15 hours a day
.
I first learnt about it a year ago or so, and in the beginning of the summer I noticed that I have several of symptoms (mostly uneasy feeling in fingers, but sometimes also in arms). Luckily we went to Corsica then and all got okay. Then I almost forgot and only remembered today. My mistake (apart from sitting by the comp all the time) was that I didn’t keep my fingers warm which is not good for ankles. Well, some hot water and ten minutes rest and all seems okay, but I am still freaked and I am afraid to take mouse in my hand (as that is much worse than keyboard because it fixes the hand in single position).
Well, my point: when you feel tired from the computer, have a rest at least for a while. It helps to have breaks regularly (but not once in five hours as I do
). Well, enough of writing, that only makes it worse.
There are two IRC channels about SEO I have found so far – #webmasterradio at irc.webmasterradio.fm and #SEO on EFnet. The second one is more crowded and less chatty and the first one is full of SEO experts (chatting mostly about nonsense though
).
I guess I am going to hang around there for a bit, cause I like irc more than various web forums.
I recently made a webpage that shows random word on random background (the initial impulse was obviously finding out how randomness works in php
).
I am very interested in knowing what you think about it, so please do not hesitate to discuss here
.
Google offers several great services, one of them is google maps. It consists of satelite photos of Earth. You can have a look at where go tournament in Brno takes place – Santon hotel.
I recently stumbled upon Google sightseeing, which is a site having links to various interesting things on google maps. Much easier than actually travelling.
Yesterday was my birthday. Many people wished me happy birthday. It is nice that they remembered (or their icq told them) and I appreciate it. But I never really cared about birthday, it never was anything special for me (except those birthday when I got my driver’s licence and could legally start drinking alcohol, that was kinda special).
On this birthday I wished just one person to remember me. She didn’t. I am not really sure why, but it really put me down. Maybe it is because from my point of view we experienced quite a lot together. And I am not sure I want to know her point of view.
Whatever.
Post edit: The second paragraph is now obsolete.

I just read how to do what you love by Paul Graham. The guy is a genius, really. But I bet that you are too lazy to read it through because it is oh so very long. You will just scroll through it and miss most of his points. Well, too bad for you…
And in case I now motivated you to really read it and you liked it, you might also like Paul’s other essays, especially the one about procrastination.
Hi there!
Maybe you think, that you are the only one reading this blog. Surprisingly, it is not so. There are not many people reading it, but those who read usually return (dunno why, don’t ask me
) about every other day.
Now I don’t know whether you can not see the “comment” link below articles or just do not feel like reacting (thanks for the one and only (extremely insightful) comment by vertigo), but if you feel like writing something do not hesitate to do so just because noone else does it.
PS: And you can comment in any language (but if you want me to understand it you have to use a language I understand, dziekuje bardzo).
During the weekend I was in Prague playing go tournament (won by a Korean guy without a single loss). In the end I finished 8th with 2 wins and 3 loses, nothing great. I lost to Vladimir Danek by half a point, that kind of sucks (especially considering that I have never beaten him before (he is the only Czech player I haven’t beaten yet (ok, I was very lucky against Ondrej Silt once (btw do you like nested brackets? (I just love them))), but I hope to win him someday)).
On saturday evening we have been ice-skating, which is much more fun than I thought it would be, I really enjoyed it (and fell only twice
).
This is weird, I decided to try it and now it works again.
I swear that I had deleted the cookies and cleared all the cache before, when it didn’t work. I really do not understand where the problem was (but it was there, the body of the post would never load).
Well, nevermind, I am glad it works now and I hope it isn’t going to stop
.
I think I finally get it. There is no point in making sites for popular keywords (unless you make a high quality site. If you make a site similar to thousands of other you will never get any traffic from google (and traffic from google is what counts). You have to concentrate on niche sites (hopefully I finally understood what it means). It is better to rank first for something 100 people search for every month than to rank 1000th for something millions of people search everyday.
Now the exciting part – using overture keyword selector, I found a phrase that is said to be searched 100,000 times a month and using google I didn’t find a single site about that topic (or about that bunch of keywords, which are often used together (no, I will not tell you
)). So… if I manage to rank somewhere at the top… well, I guess you can figure out the rest…
