Reading comics is a very pleasent way of wasting one’s time, therefore, I’d suggest you a few time-wasters that I really enjoy:
Nerd boy is a very geek ascii-art comics created by Joaquim Gandara. It has about 600 strips and is currently stalling. I suggest you to read the strips in order, as they don’t make […]

I only very recently discovered Nightwish (their official site is also worth visiting). The trick is that they have a real singer - Tarja Turunen (well, she’s not their singer anymore, but the past albums are sung by her). I’m not going to just copy wikipedia here (go read it yourself) so I’ll add my […]
There is something really weird about abandoned places. I personally find them very scary for several reasons. First is that they don’t necessarily have to be as abandoned as they might seem, and if someone lived there it would probably be weird enough person to kill me. The second, less childlish, is that it just […]
Rob Gonsalves is an exceptional Canadian painter. Wikipedia states that his works can be classified as “magic realism” (someone really should upgrade that awful stud).
I’ve recently stumbled upon a collection of Rob Gonsalves’ pictures (reading digg is sometimes worth it). It’s a thread in a Russian forum, but I think that it doesn’t really matter […]
I like the good old dynamic serif typefaces (from 15th-17th century). The most well known is Garamond, which is also my favourite one, together with Pastonchi (which is so unknown it doesn’t even have its wikipedia page, although it’s a very sexy typeface (I especially love opennes of the small letter ‘f’ (see the pic […]
At the animefest I’ve seen this flash animation with wonderful music. Janisska sent me the link earlier but I wasn’t able to get the sound running in linux.
I made a bit of searching and found full version of the song.
WARNING: Majority of people (including me) finds the song highly addictive.
Post edit: I found lyrics (both […]
I’ve been listening to some classical music lately, so here are my impressions:
Tchaikovsky: Nutcracker and Swan lake, both are great, the music is very lively.
Mozart: Requiem, ultimately boring, I didn’t like it at all.
Vivaldi: Some concert, well, better than Requiem (if that means anything).
But, Tchaikovsky rulez…
Aerosmith: Dream on
Every time that I look in the mirror,
All these lines on my face getting clearer.
The past is gone,
It went by like dusk to dawn.
Isn’t that the way?
Everybody’s got their dues in life to pay.
I know nobody knows,
Where it comes and where it goes.
I know it’s everybody’s sin,
You got to lose to know how […]
When I was young, it seemed that life was so wonderful,
a miracle, oh it was beautiful, magical.
And all the birds in the trees, well they’d be singing so happily,
joyfully, playfully watching me.
But then they send me away to teach me how to be sensible,
logical, responsible, practical.
And they showed me a world where I could be […]
